服务是杰出学者计划的重要组成部分，提醒我们领导始于服务的意愿。 This year, our DSP 9–12 scholars partnered with Inspiration Ranch in Magnolia, TX, an organization that provides equine-assisted therapy and learning programs for children and adults with physical, emotional, and social challenges.

学生 spent the day completing a major facilities project by painting fencing that will extend its lifespan by 5 to 10 years, while also learning about the Ranch’s unique equine-assisted psychotherapy and therapeutic riding programs. The staff expressed deep gratitude for the scholars’ hard work, and many students returned eager to find more ways to serve after experiencing the impact of their efforts firsthand.

At the program’s first luncheon of the year, each student was placed into a Legacy, a leadership-centered community they will belong to for the duration of their time in the program. Rooted in the Five Pillars of Leadership promoted by the Bush Center for Scholars and Leaders—Character, Communication, Competency, Compassion, and Courage—these Legacies establish a framework for growth, belonging, and purpose-driven leadership.

Houston Christian High School was honored to welcome a distinguished foreign affairs delegation from Taiwan, comprising eight exceptional high school students and five esteemed representatives from Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Ministry of Education, in partnership with the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office–Houston.
